"Park 54" is inspired by the life and service of the men who served in the 54th Regiment - a volunteer infantry comprised of free Black American male soldiers. The regiment was established in Readville, MA, now known as "Hyde Park." Despite the backlash the men received for fighting in a "white man's war" each of them bravely risked their lives for the freedom and betterment of their families, community, and country.
Our mission is to continue the legacy of the historical 54th Regiment by creating a safe haven in which our beloved community of Hyde Park and the neighboring towns, can experience the freedom, happiness, and the fullness of self expression the 54th Regiment fought for. Our intention is to accomplish this by offering great food, innovative libations, incredible music, compelling historical artifacts, and an inviting ambience!
Tasha Hull, is a native of Trinidad and Tobago, but migrated to Boston in 1991 when her parents decided to move to the United States. Tasha grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and later lived in the Back Bay for over 10 years. Today, Tasha currently resides in Hyde Park, and has been a resident there since July 2018. Tasha graduated from the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science and the University of Massachusetts Boston. She holds a B.S. in Management and Marketing and an M.Ed. in Special Education. Tasha has been a trusted real estate agent since 2004 and is the founder and owner of a property management company - Hull Property Management - since 2011. Additionally, Tasha has been employed by the Boston Public Schools as a special education teacher since 2006. Tasha is a fierce community advocate and is known for empowering and loving all those who she comes in contact with. Moreover, Tasha is known and beloved throughout the city for her incredible food and 5 star display!
Andre Walker, a Chicago native, is the owner of multiple successful ventures which include his resort style restaurant, "Oceans," in the Dominican Republic. Andre has relentlessly placed an emphasis on empowering and equipping his community with employment opportunities. Ensuring the physical and financial wellness of the community in which his businesses are operating, is paramount to each of his business models.
Shawn Hunter, comes to greater Boston with an impressive 20+ year career of visible achievements in the food service industry. He’s held leadership positions in Bars, QSR & Restaurant operations, and has contributed to the sales of over 40 million dollars annually in the past five years. Additionally, he has kept three chains of stores in the top five sales across Eastern America. Shawn owned a successful neighborhood sports bar & grill, Micas Sita, in New Jersey before selling it and relocating to Florida. He has hired, trained, and developed managers to succeed at the highest level of restaurant management performance. Shawn came to Boston as a managing partner with The Catalyst Ventures Hospitality group, overseeing operations for two of Boston’s Historic Restaurants/Bar/Nightlife: Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen & Slade’s Bar and Grill.
