The name Park 54 was inspired by the courageous men of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, one of the first official Black regiments to serve in the Union Army during the Civil War. The regiment was organized in Readville—now part of Boston's Hyde Park—and was made up of free Black men who answered the call to fight for freedom, equality, and justice.
Despite facing discrimination and criticism for fighting in what many called a "white man's war," these brave soldiers risked everything to secure a better future for their families, their community, and generations to come. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to service continue to inspire us every day.
At Park 54 Restaurant & Lounge, our mission is to honor and carry forward the legacy of the 54th Regiment by creating a welcoming space where everyone feels valued, respected, and at home. We are proud to serve as a gathering place where the Hyde Park community and visitors from across Greater Boston can come together to celebrate culture, history, and connection.
Through our signature blend of Southern soul food and authentic Caribbean cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, live entertainment, and warm hospitality, we strive to create more than just a restaurant—we offer an experience. Surrounded by historical artifacts that pay tribute to the 54th Regiment, our guests are invited to enjoy great food, great music, and great company while remembering the extraordinary legacy of the men whose courage made Park 54 possible.
Their story is our inspiration. Their legacy is our foundation. Their spirit lives on in every meal we serve and every guest we welcome.

Park 54 Restaurant & Lounge was founded by Tasha Hull in December 2021 and proudly opened its doors in June 2022. Created from a passion for great food, vibrant culture, and meaningful connections, Park 54 was built to be more than just a restaurant—it was designed to be a place where family, friends, and the community can come together to enjoy exceptional Southern soul food, authentic Caribbean cuisine, and genuine hospitality.
A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Tasha brings her love of Caribbean culture, warm hospitality, and passion for bringing people together into every aspect of Park 54. Her vision has always been to create a welcoming space where every guest feels like family while enjoying flavorful dishes, handcrafted cocktails, live entertainment, and an atmosphere that celebrates both Caribbean culture and Southern comfort food.
In 2025, Tasha's fiancé, Earl Stephen, became a co-owner of Park 54, bringing more than 25 years of leadership and management experience. Proudly representing his Trinidadian and Bajan heritage, Earl joined the ownership team at a pivotal time in the restaurant's journey. Like many new restaurant owners, Tasha and the team were learning as they grew. Earl's experience in leadership, team development, and operations helped strengthen the business from within. Through mentoring the staff, improving service standards, and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability, he has played an instrumental role in elevating the guest experience and helping Park 54 continue to thrive.
Together, Tasha and Earl have built Park 54 into a destination where guests can enjoy outstanding Southern soul food and authentic Caribbean cuisine in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Their shared commitment to quality, hospitality, and community is at the heart of everything they do, ensuring that every guest leaves feeling like part of the Park 54 family.
